COMMENTS FROM NERFA JUDGES:

  • This was a delightful read, and I plan to read her other two books. She has researched England in 1652 very well, so I learned history along with an enjoyable story. Ms. Dane has a clear style of writing and makes her characters believable which makes me want to read more. I am grateful to have read this book by Abigail Dane.
  • Memorable, enjoyable. The most depressing thing was as I was reading the Author’s Notes I discovered the book is a “third in the series.” Now I must find the first and second to read before I go looking for the fourth.

COMMENTS FROM MORWA JUDGES:

  • I'm running out of superlatives...all was as it should be and more.
  • Captured me from the very beginning all the way through to the end.
  • The GMC, POV, action and suspense were all spot on. VERY rare to find someone who hits all of them well--even in published authors.
  • I was hooked from 1st page and was disappointed there wasn't more to read.
  • The opening action creates a good amount of tension.
  • You built really three-dimensional characters. I love these characters already! I want to read on!
  • The characters' personalities and motivations come across really well.
  • I like these characters already and how the author tells their stories, in particular.
  • After the first page, I would've kept reading because your writing is very good.
  • Great hero and heroine! I can't wait to see how they reach their happily ever after!

What Readers are Saying...

...about THE VISCOUNT AND THE VALET

I’m only in the first few pages of the book but already intrigued. Loving the history woven into it, which for me is a catalyst for researching it on my iPhone. I like her writing style so far--choice of words, descriptions and imagery. -- Cherill, NV

Just finished [re-reading] the book...even more fun to re-read. The [first] two were fine too, but this one is so clever. Love the elements of suspense and danger as well as romance. It is remarkable and most clever. Don't want to put the book down. I love it all!! --Kathleen, TX

I really enjoyed this one, even more than the other two. You're just getting better and better with each one! --Judy, PA

I'm reading your third novel and it IS your best yet. It's like you are by my side reading aloud. Very strong voice. --Sarah, FL

I loved...The Viscount and the Valet. It sparkles with imagination, wit, and romance—and it thoroughly entertains!  --Bonnie, FL

Your books are a good mix of action and emotional development, and for sure, I like a background of 1600s.... more interesting to me as there are all kinds of references that I am learning about the culture at that time. I hope I am on your signed book list. Need to keep up my collection. --Jan, NM
